The 2023 Spring Season is coming!
All players will need gloves, cleats (non-metal) and a batting helmet with mask (some are provided by TCFA to the teams if needed). Players at pitcher, 1st and 3rd base must wear a field mask.
Practices will begin the week of March 12. Coaches are busy taking necessary training and completing background checks to be ready to begin practicing. Players are expected to attend all practices or contact the coach when an absence is necessary.
TCFA has a zero tolerance policy for any verbal or physical actions taken against the umpires. If you are attending games and involved in any type of disrespectful, unsportsmanlike or inappropriate behavior, you will be banned from attending at least 1 game. More egregious actions can cause a season long or life time ban from TCFA activities. Over the past couple of years, there have been too many incidents of umpires being treated unfairly or followed to the parking lot while being threatened and this CANNOT be our norm.
Things to remember: Umpires are people just like you and make mistakes just like you. You are there to support the players. Let the coach communicate with the umpire. Model the behavior you wish to see from our children.
Games will begin on April 15 with our Opening Day Ceremonies, team pictures, silent auction and games for all.
The season will go until the middle of June.
Game schedules can be expected by the end of March.
It's always a good idea to educate yourself on the rules. The link below will take you to the USSSA rules. We are governed by USSSA and will compete by their rules with a few exceptions that are outlined in our TCFA Rule Modifications you can find on our website. Please take time to review these.
Thanks for choosing to play with TCFA. We are excited for a great 2023 season.
