Changes for the 2019 Spring Season

Tier Scheduling
Beginning with the 2019 Spring Season, TCFA will be adding what we are calling Tier Scheduling.

For the 10U, 12U and 14/16U, divisions if there are at least 8 teams in the division will participate in Tier Scheduling. a

The following outline of what this could look like.

  1. All teams play each other for approximately 7 games with tiers being formed on May 11, 2019.
  2. Once these initial games are completed – team records will be evaluated and place the teams into 2 tiers within the division to play out the rest of their season for a total of approximately 14 games.
  3. Top 2 teams per tier would be considered 1st and 2nd place in tier division. If tied, they will have one playoff game to determine the top team in the tier. Awards will be granted to the top team in each tier.
All-Stars
All-star teams will be formed at the 10U, 12U and 14/16U in 2019. After the tier scheduling is complete, coaches will select up to 5 players from their team to try-out for the All-Stars. In 2019, the tryouts will be held on either May 17 or 18. More information on this will be shared with coaches in the near future.

The All-star teams will participate in at least 3 tournaments which could include a State Tournament. TCFA will provide a uniform shirt and socks and pay for one tournament. The cost per player will be $100 to be paid at the time of selection.

The New 14/16U
In an effort to allow girls that may not have other opportunities to play, TCFA is allowing 15 and 16 year olds to join 14U teams. These players may not be participating on select teams. TCFA does not anticipate this to be a high number of players. If we end up with more than we anticipate and enough to form multiple teams, we will have a dedicated 16U division.
